9 -9:50 am        Michelle AtwellNHTSA Initiatives in Driver Education. NHTSA supports Driver Education through an array of different efforts. From support for The Novice Teen Driver Education and Training Administrative Standards (NTDETAS), The Association of National Stakeholders in Traffic Safety Education (ANSTSE), outreach and education, State Driver Education Assessments and State Technical Assistance. Come learn about these efforts and other ways NHTSA is supporting the enhancement of Driver Education Programs.

10-10:50 am     Dave Muma - Eye Mirrors Tell All. Join us as we gain insights into how to interpret a driver's visual habits. Learn how to coach your students to see and interpret the traffic scene more effectively with the use of eye mirrors.

11-11:50 am     Nina Jo Saint - Stopped By The Cops; Don't Get Shot. Texas driving schools wil be requried by state law to incorporate information concerning how to act at a traffic stop into the school's curriculum by the fall of 2018.  This presentation will provide an example of that information created for the Community Safety Education Act passed in the 2017 legislative session.  The information can be modified for any driving school to use no matter what state.

4:00-4:55 pm    Stacy Tisdale - Steer Your Teen Down the Right Road.  Ms. Tisdale works with the Texas A&M Transportation Researcher to encourage effecive peer-to-peer messaging, increasing teen driving risk awarness and creating new and innovative ways to help teens spread safe driving messages.
